Radisson Hotel Group is bringing its first internationally branded serviced apartments to South Africa, with a new luxury development in Umhlanga set to open sales next month.
Developed in partnership with Avoca Developments, the 183-room Radisson Serviced Apartments Umhlanga will officially launch to buyers on 15 August, with the first 40 apartments priced from R1.75 million.

Scheduled to open in 2029, the development will be located in Umhlanga Ridge and is designed to meet growing demand for extended-stay accommodation that combines apartment-style living with premium hotel services.
Owners will have access to concierge services, housekeeping, restaurants, meeting facilities and a rooftop bar, while also enjoying up to 30 days’ personal use of their apartment each year. The remaining time, the property will be professionally managed and rented out by Radisson.

According to the Daily Investor, investors can expect an estimated 12.7% average rental yield by the fifth year.
The project reflects growing confidence in KwaZulu-Natal’s tourism and property sectors, with Umhlanga continuing to attract major hospitality investments thanks to its business hub, beaches and proximity to King Shaka International Airport.
Radisson says serviced apartments are one of the fastest-growing segments in global hospitality, driven by business travellers, digital nomads and visitors seeking the flexibility of apartment living with the convenience of hotel services.

Purchasers will also receive membership to the Radisson Rewards loyalty programme, offering travel perks and benefits across the group’s international hotel portfolio.
The Umhlanga development marks a major milestone for Radisson’s expansion in South Africa and further strengthens KwaZulu-Natal’s position as a growing hospitality and investment destination.
