The official trailer for The Chosen Season 6 has been released, giving audiences their first extended look at the biblical drama’s most difficult chapter yet.
The upcoming season will focus on the final 24 hours of Jesus Christ’s life, including his arrest, trial before the Sanhedrin and crucifixion.
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer opens with Judas Iscariot spotting Mary, the mother of Jesus, in a crowd in Jerusalem before moving into the events surrounding Jesus’ final day.
Creator Dallas Jenkins described the season as a story about surrender, with Jesus choosing to accept the path ahead despite having the ability to avoid it.
The season will also explore the reaction of Jesus’ disciples as they struggle to understand what is happening and eventually scatter following his arrest.
Noah James, who plays Andrew, said reading the Season 6 scripts left him deeply emotional, particularly the way the story builds towards the crucifixion.
Jenkins has described Season 6 as the biggest production the series has undertaken, with extensive visual effects and translations contributing to the longer production process.
The new season will consist of six episodes and a finale. The first three episodes will premiere on Prime Video on 15 November, followed by weekly releases on 22 November, 29 November and 6 December.
The season finale is scheduled for a global theatrical release in spring 2027.
For the first time, all six episodes and the finale are expected to launch with translations in dozens of languages rather than having additional language versions added later.
Season 6 will be available on Prime Video in South Africa and other sub-Saharan African markets.
The season will initially be exclusive to Prime Video under the agreement between 5&2 Studios and Amazon MGM Studios. The Chosen app release dates have not yet been announced, with a 90-day exclusivity period applying after the Prime Video release schedule is completed.
