England captain Harry Kane has added another major individual honour to his growing collection after being crowned Europe’s top scorer for the 2025/26 season.
The Bayern Munich striker secured the European Golden Shoe after scoring 36 goals in the Bundesliga, finishing ahead of Europe’s leading goalscorers.
The award marks Kane’s second Golden Shoe triumph, placing him in an elite group alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as only the third player to win the prestigious award twice.
Bayern Munich confirmed that Kane will officially receive the honour at a ceremony at the club’s museum on 19 August.
Kane joins Bayern’s scoring greats
Kane’s latest achievement adds to an impressive run since his move to Bayern Munich, where he has quickly established himself among the club’s most prolific attacking players.
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer compared Kane’s impact to some of the club’s legendary forwards, including Gerd Müller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
“Harry Kane is one of the legends of attack like Gerd Müller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge,” Hainer said, praising the striker for continuing Bayern’s long tradition of elite goalscoring.
“He is like a light that illuminates the path for his team both on and off the pitch, because he always leads with a strong character and a team spirit.”
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also praised Kane’s contribution, highlighting his growing influence both at the club and within German football.
At 32, Kane continues to add to his legacy, with his latest Golden Shoe potentially strengthening his case for further individual recognition, including the FIFA Best Player award.
