Leapmotor is expanding its South African range with the new B10 compact SUV, priced from R499,900.
The B10 becomes the brand’s second local model, arriving significantly cheaper than the C10 and opening for orders on 18 August.
Range-Extender Technology
Unlike a conventional hybrid, the B10’s petrol engine does not drive the wheels. Instead, the 1.5-litre engine acts as a generator to recharge the battery when needed.

Its 18.8kWh battery provides up to 86km of electric driving, while the combined range reaches around 900km. The electric motor produces 158kW and drives the rear wheels.
The B10 also features vehicle-to-load technology, allowing the battery to power external devices.
Two Models
South African buyers can choose between:
- B10 Style – R499,900
- B10 Design – R549,900
Both versions feature a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, 18-inch wheels and a suite of driver-assistance systems.

The Design adds heated and ventilated leather seats, a heated steering wheel, electric tailgate, ambient lighting and a 12-speaker sound system.
Inside, both models feature a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
With a starting price below R500,000, the B10 gives Leapmotor a more affordable entry point as competition among Chinese vehicle brands intensifies in South Africa.
