A fleet of 243 supercars and hypercars roared into the record books at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on Sunday, setting a new Guinness World Records™ title while raising awareness for rhino conservation.
The event, organised by the Ferris Hope Foundation on behalf of Rhino Connect, surpassed the previous record of 179 vehicles, which was set in 2024. The achievement was officially confirmed by Guinness World Records adjudicator Mbali Nkosi.
While the impressive display of exotic cars drew crowds to the circuit, organisers said the event’s true purpose was to shine a spotlight on South Africa’s rhino poaching crisis and support the rehabilitation of orphaned rhinos.
Rhino Connect works with conservation partners to rescue and care for young rhinos left orphaned by poaching, providing specialised veterinary treatment, nutrition and rehabilitation before they can be returned to protected environments.
Ferris Hope Foundation founder Tommy Roes described the record as a milestone that would help bring international attention to the conservation cause.
“The Guinness World Record gives us a global platform to create awareness about rhino poaching and the work being done to protect these animals,” he said.
Although the record has now been secured, organisers say the focus remains on generating ongoing support for rhino conservation, with every donation and partnership helping to give orphaned rhinos a better chance of survival.
