Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo “Shebe Maburna” Chauke’s latest bail application has been taken off the court roll after his new legal team requested more time to prepare.
Chauke appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where his new lawyer said the defence needed time to familiarise itself with the case and obtain outstanding documents from the State.
The musician remains in custody and faces 21 charges, including four counts of attempted murder, as well as other charges linked to alleged criminal offences.
His previous bail applications have been unsuccessful, with a recent appeal also dismissed by the Limpopo High Court.
The case will now continue through pre-trial proceedings as Chauke’s new legal team prepares for the next stage.
Chauke remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
