Cardi B vs. Nicki Minaj: The Rap Queens Go Nuclear (Again) on X Over Album Drama

Just when we thought the decade-long feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj had cooled down, the two rap titans reignited their war with enough Twitter/X smoke on Monday night (Sept. 29) to fill Madison Square Garden. And this time? They’re not holding back—not even a little.

The spark? Cardi’s new album, Am I the Drama?, which dropped with a promo price of $4.99 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, going double platinum in a week. But apparently, the real drama started after Nicki fired off a cryptic (but not really) tweet:

“Never provoke a writer while they’re ✍🏽,” the Pink Friday rapper wrote, before tossing in a curveball plug for her own upcoming album, out March 27, 2026. “Let the reindeer games begin.”

Nicki, 42, went straight for Cardi’s pockets and pride, mocking the discounted price of the album with a dry, standalone tweet: “$4.99.” But the pettiness didn’t stop at the price tag.

In a series of now-deleted posts, Nicki dubbed the pregnant Cardi “Barney Dangerous”, took shots at her Billboard success, and went full freestyle roast on Cardi’s hit track “Magnet,” mocking its childlike chorus: “A-B-C-D-E-F-G / these bitches can’t f*** with me.”

Nicki fired back with her own alphabet chaos: “Abcdefgeeeeeeee / SUR GER REE TO LOOK LIKE MEEEEEE / tell the rat & tell J ZEEEEEE / Rico Fraud & PERJURY.”

And she didn’t stop there: “Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyyy / RUNNING TRAINS / Barefoot, still smellyyyyy / Still. You. Could. Not. outsell. meeeeee.”

Cardi B Claps Back: “Cocaine Barbie” and Baby Bombs

Cardi, 32 and currently expecting baby #4 (her first with NFL star Stefon Diggs), wasn’t about to stay silent. She snapped back with venom—and verses.

“A B C D E F G / Your man have to snatch PY / PY taste like honey comb / Your bro be touching 12-year-olds,” Cardi tweeted, referencing long-standing allegations surrounding Nicki’s family.

She followed with a jab at Nicki’s chart comparisons:

“It’s not the gag you think it is… You been in the game 16 years… You need to compare yourself to YOUR peers… Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake… I was in high school when you came out, wtf is you comparing yourself to me for?”

Oh, and about the pregnancy digs? Cardi scorched the earth:

“Like you wasn’t going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all them percs scrambling your eggs. NOT ALLEGEDLY… Lord protect my babies.”

Yikes.

As the beef boiled over, memes flew across timelines like dodgeballs in gym class—Barney gifs, pink wigs, and “Magnet” remixes were everywhere.

But it wasn’t just a two-woman show. Ice Spice weighed in with a cryptic giggle emoji combo, while JT of City Girls cannonballed into the chaos: “Lol that b**** home ugly & mad no celebration! 🤣😭 I would’ve been break dancing right now if I was #1 but she know she lied!!!!!”

This came days after Cardi’s “Magnet” verse called JT a: “Fake friend-ass bh (Huh), a clown-ass bh (Shh)… shady-ass b***h, you’ve been trash since birth.”

JT previously said she needed “Jesus to help her” after catching strays from Cardi’s album. On Monday, she doubled down, calling the album a “$4.99 hot dog” and Cardi a “dirty non-talented rat.”

Will there be diss tracks? Probably. Will this feud ever end? Probably not.
