More than 100 transport operators, customers and industry partners gathered in Ballito as Scania South Africa hosted its annual KwaZulu-Natal Golf Day, combining networking with discussions on the future of road freight.
Held at Umhlali Country Club, the event brought together stakeholders from across the logistics sector to discuss key industry challenges, including infrastructure constraints, fleet reliability and improving operational efficiency.

Scania also showcased its Scania Super powertrain, highlighting the latest advances in fuel efficiency, durability and lower operating costs. The platform is designed to help fleet operators maximise productivity while reducing fuel consumption and the total cost of ownership.
Scania KwaZulu-Natal Dealer Director Gary Boucher said the event provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships while engaging customers on the evolving needs of the transport industry.

Regional Sales Manager Roberto Izaaks added that operators are increasingly looking beyond the purchase of a truck and focusing on how vehicle performance can improve long-term business success.
The day concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, where Team 12 claimed the winning fourball title with 84 points, while several participants were recognised for standout performances and lucky draw prizes.

According to Scania, events such as the annual golf day play an important role in strengthening partnerships and helping the company better understand the challenges facing South Africa’s transport sector.
