Two fan-favorite queens from different corners of pop culture might be joining forces—and it’s got both the Barbz and the Carpenters (yes, that’s what Sabrina’s fans call themselves) buzzing.
On August 29, Nicki Minaj posted a lyric from Sabrina Carpenter’s chart-topping new album Man’s Best Friend to her Instagram Story:
“Don’t worry, I’ll make you my worry.”
At first glance, it looked like a simple co-sign from one artist to another—but then things started getting interesting.
Enter Sergio Kletnoy, Vogue’s Entertainment Director, who reposted Minaj’s story and posed the question we were all thinking:
“My girls… Nicki Minaj and Sabrina Carpenter, collab?”
Carpenter wasted no time stirring the pot, responding with a cryptic but oh-so-tempting:
“Love affair 💘💘💘”
Minaj followed up just as cheekily:
“Don’t worry, Sergio. 🫡”
While nothing is officially confirmed yet, it’s clear there’s something simmering between the rap icon and the rising pop superstar. And honestly, it makes perfect sense. These two have been low-key hyping each other up for a while now.
Last year, Carpenter posted “This one’s for Nicki” on X, nodding to Minaj’s 2018 chart drama with Travis Scott over album bundles and Billboard rankings. Minaj responded with love on Instagram Live:
“Shout out Sabrina Carpenter, shout out all the Sabrina Carpenter fans.”
Mutual respect? Check. Potential banger? Almost certainly.
And if that wasn’t enough to prove this is a match made in musical heaven, Minaj name-dropped Carpenter earlier this year in an interview with Vogue Italia, calling her “a breath of fresh air” and one of her favorite newer artists.
“I didn’t know she’d been around that long when I started listening to her,” Minaj said. “A superstar is a superstar.”
Meanwhile, Carpenter continues to dominate the pop landscape. Her latest album Man’s Best Friend is a hit, and while the cover stirred up some online chatter, Sabrina herself couldn’t care less.
“It wasn’t even a conversation,” she told CBS Mornings host Gayle King. “My family and friends loved it… I was actually shocked. Y’all need to get out more.”
