Lara Worthington is returning to the beauty industry with a new brand built around a simple idea: makeup should make getting ready easier, not more complicated.
The Australian model and entrepreneur has launched Ommage, debuting with just three products — a skin tint, lipstick and buffing brush.
The pared-back collection reflects Worthington’s understated approach to beauty, which she previously explored through her first beauty brand, The Base by Lara Bingle.
The range includes First Base, a hydrating and buildable skin cream designed to even out the complexion while allowing natural skin to show through. It comes in 12 shades and can be applied using either fingers or Ommage’s vegan-fibre Buffer Brush.
The second product, Lip Coat, is a sheer, soft-focus lipstick available in eight shades. It can be worn as a light wash of colour or layered for a deeper finish.
Completing the collection is the Buffer Brush, a dense brush designed to help blend First Base seamlessly into the skin.
While the collection is deliberately small, the packaging makes a bold statement. Worthington worked with artist and graphic designer Brian Roettinger on sculptural packaging inspired by industrial forms shaped by pressure. The result is deliberately imperfect, with dented and softened surfaces that give the products a distinctive look.
“Ommage began with a simple idea: that beauty can start with the object itself,” Worthington said.
The brand is also centred on enhancing rather than covering up natural features.
“Every formula was developed to accentuate features, rather than mask or correct,” she said.
Ommage launches on 22 September through its website, with prices starting at $34. A UK launch has not yet been announced.
